Each Sunday evening I iron my clothes as I think about the week ahead. In addition to thinking about work there are also thoughts of tasks directly related to the family which consists of Twanna (wife), Jalen and Trenton (sons) and Apollo and Rocky (Yorkies). And yes the dogs have just as many activities as we do, for example, trips to pet store, walks, grooming and occasional sleep overs.
Amazingly, during those few moments of ironing (I hate ironing with a passion) each Sunday it is then that I find a sense of clarity which provides the most vivid reflections I have ever experienced. I mean I can really see myself in different episodes of my life along with the people who helped to shaped it as well as their perceptions, attitudes, rights, wrongs and indifferents.
Obviously, I wish like so many others that I could go back and change so many of those situations with hopes of a better outcome. So, with that I try to use my past as any good parent and husband would in order to proactively lead my family while focusing on identifiying potential pitfalls.
Unfortunately, this regiment has left me with an unquenched thirst for newfound excitement. I have entered businesses, voyuerism, investment groups, clubs and everything just shy of buying a motorcycle. Hmmmm... a motorcyle, now thats a thought! Damn, it's Sunday and I've got to iron...
